This is a long one. . . So buckle up!

My exH and I have been divorced since Jan 2017. Our daughter was only 8 months at the time. It was a clean cut divorce where I got sole and physical custody. He moved to CA to get away and we stayed in UT. We are very cordial to each other and I would even say friends for our daughters sake. He pays child support, but wishes not to see her because of his own abusive childhood.

My exIL are kind of crazy people. They cut off contact from most of their family, they didn’t come to our wedding or reception because I was ‘to fat for their son’ and other control issues. They were verbally and physically abusive, my exH claimed he had beliefs that his younger sisters were sexually molested and abused by their father in their youth and just more stories that would make the hair stand on the back of your neck. When we were married, more family members came out of the woodwork and spoke of how crazy the In-laws were and suspicions of sexual acts by the FIL to the daughters as well.

For 18 months of marriage we didn’t see them and only heard from them when they wanted to berate my exH. When we had our daughter, contact was made, but my exH and I were both very uncomfortable with them based on their past actions and history. They only saw our daughter 3 times in her first few months. We had moved and didn’t tell them where we were, until one day they knocked on our door. We to this day still do not know how they figure out our exact address to a large apartment complex.

A few months later, my exH and I divorced and both agreed to an amendment in our divorce decree that the paternal grandparents would never see our daughter based on the verbal claims made by exH that the paternal grandfather sexually abused his daughters. We agreed and signed the dotted line.

Jump to Beginning of 2020 and they are now petitioning for Grandparent visitation rights, and today we got emails from the lawyer with a motion for partial set aside for a hearing to fight the amendment in our divorce decree about them because they had no say in the matter and it slanders them. It’s just piling on for during this pandemic.

My daughter and I still live in UT and the state courts side with the parents if found fit which I believe we are fit. But had anyone had anything like this happen to them? Can the exInlaws fight us on our divorce decree that we still both agree to?
We work and both go to school and trying to find lawyers but because of Covid19 we are getting a hard time anyone calling us back

What width stringer should I use for this to meet strength requirements?

I think 2×12’s are going to be too thin to serve as a stringer. I plan to router out the size of the step 1 inch deep + create a hole for a 2×4 sized poke through like this picture.

What am i looking for here in terms of stringer width 3×12? 4×12? I could do 2×12 with a supporting spine straight board.

I called the inspector to pre approve the project before I went down this path. One guy said yes,he retired, I showed a mock up and the next guy said no, stringer violates IBC chapter 10 Stairs. Theyre closed for covid and I’m still waiting on an answer. Ive read chapter 10 repeatedly, I don’t see the stringer violation.

@LesStonehouse @MorpheusBeing Actually all very good, garden looking a lot better although can’t face lawnmower, woodworking jobs underway, struggling to set up larger astronomical telescope (clouds not helping), bloody busy.
