Hi all! Seriously hoping someone can help me out because I am trying to get this project finished asap. I am a novice at this and have no clue what went wrong with this one. I am refinishing this dresser I bought, I painted the frame and was trying to restain the drawers. I lightly sanded them and then stained using general finishes gel stain in colonial maple and then after that dried a coat of general finishes gel stain in ash gray. They look HORRIBLE. Not sure if you can really tell from the photos but they turned out so streaky and blotchy looking. https://imgur.com/gallery/Zypx0f1 (photo of original wood included at end) I used this mix on another piece I have and it turned out beautiful, so I’m guessing it must be whatever type of wood this dresser is made out of. Does anyone know how I can now fix this issue + what caused it to turn out like this??
